His presentation will be in Honor of Black History Month.
Rev Randal received his Biblical Certificate and Ordination from Southwest Georgia Baptist College in 1984; he has been an active resident of Clay County for 25 years and the Pastor at St. Simon Baptist Church in Orange Park for 18 years.
He is the newest member of the Clay County Historical Commission; immediate past president of the NAACP; founder of Miller Street Neighborhood Renewal and Clay County OK Curriculum; as well as a leader and member in a host of other civic organizations

John Nelson - Local Historian
His topic will be Magnolia Springs Hotel, the finest in the area during the 20th century. Mr. Nelson has done extensive research on the hotel and he will use maps to plot where the old hotel was, along with its cottages, outbuildings and even the spring itself. We'll see exactly where the civil war trench was. We'll go inside the hotel and see the layout using recently found floor plans. We'll see letters written by Thomas Edison about his stay there while inspecting the county's first electric lighting. And we'll trace it's ownership from 1767, stopping along the way to highlight its most colorful events and rightful place our our County's history.

Day. It is scheduled for Saturday morning, May 21st, 10:00am, on Armed
Forces Day. Our very own Frank Haggard will be our host and tour guide.

Mrs. Jones will share her remarkable story of arriving in America as a young war bride,
and the organization & activities of the association.

Honor of National POW/MIA Recognition Day,
Dr. Cynthia Stone will present a program about
POW's in Clay County during WW II,
they were held at Camp Blanding and included mostly Germans and some Italians.
|Oct 24th @ 7:00 pm||Guest speakers are Art Yeaman, President of the Greater Green Cove Springs Civic Association, and Rocky Holland, President of the Green Cove Springs Lions Club. They will share information and details about "Christmas on Walnut Street" in downtown Green Cove Springs, the 1st Saturday in December. Mr. Yeaman will discuss the popular "Parade of Trees" with sponsor applications available, and Mr. Holland will share information on the "Walnut Street Festival" and the "City Christmas Parade" with applications available; Orange Park, Middleburg and other areas of Clay County are also invited to share their Christmas time festivities.||
|Nov 28th @ 7:00 pm||Mr. Jan Johannes will be our guest speaker and his presentation will include The West Nassau Historical Society and Museum of History located at the Railroad Depot in Callahan. Having authored several books, his presentation will include history on Nassau County and their Annual Railroad Days, both of which are very similar to ours' here in Clay County.
