March  5th @ 10:00 am Railroad Day Festival ca
March  19th @ 10:00 am

John Nelson - Local Historian
His topic will be Magnolia Springs Hotel, the finest in the area during the 20th century.  Mr. Nelson has done extensive research on the hotel and he will use maps to plot where the old hotel was, along with its cottages, outbuildings and even the spring itself.  We'll see exactly where the civil war trench was.  We'll go inside the hotel and see the layout using recently found floor plans.  We'll see letters written by Thomas Edison about his stay there while inspecting the county's first electric lighting. And we'll trace it's ownership from 1767, stopping along the way to highlight its most colorful events and rightful place our our County's history.
